Anti-slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
Purpose
Barney & Bella will be trading under the RSPCA Woodside trading company which is owned by RSPCA Woodside.
The purpose of this policy outline RSPCA Woodside’s commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our activities and relationships. We have a zero-tolerance approach to slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking in any form. This policy outlines our commitment to ensuring that modern slavery does not occur within our organisation.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees employed by RSPCA Leicestershire, Peterborough and Rutland (known as RSPCA Woodside) and/or RSPCA Woodside Trading Limited (“Us” “We” “Our”) irrespective of length of service, along with volunteers and third-party contractors.
This policy does not form part of any contract of employment, and we may amend it at any time.
Principles
This policy aligns with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and other relevant legislation aimed at combating modern slavery and human trafficking.

2. Responsibilities:

- Board of Trustees – provide oversight and ensure compliance with this policy.
- Leadership Team – implement procedures to prevent and address risks of modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Employees and Volunteers – report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery within the organisation.
3. Training and Awareness:

- Provide training to employees, volunteers, and trustees on recognising and addressing signs of modern slavery.
- Raise awareness among staff and stakeholders about the importance of eradicating modern slavery.
4. Reporting and Whistleblowing:

- We encourage all individuals to report concerns related to modern slavery or human trafficking without fear of retaliation.
- Reports can be made to the Leadership team or Trustee Board
- All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and appropriate actions taken.
5. Supplier and Partner Compliance:

- Include anti-slavery provisions in contracts where applicable.
- Terminate relationships with any party found to be involved in modern slavery.
6. Monitoring and Review:

- This policy replaces and overrides any previous policies contained in any earlier versions of our Staff Handbook. In the event of any inconsistencies, this version takes precedence.
- This policy will be reviewed in line with the Policy Review Schedule, or sooner if there are significant changes in legislation, operations, or after a serious incident. Audits and spot checks will be conducted to ensure compliance.
7. Non-Compliance:

- Any breach of this policy by an employee, volunteer, supplier, or contractor will result in appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
