Based right here in Leicestershire, RSPCA Woodside has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals since 1975. From mistreated dogs to abandoned cats, their dedicated team works around the clock to give animals in need the medical care, love, and fresh start they deserve.
But this life-saving work doesn’t come cheap…
It Costs Over £20,000 a Week
to Keep Woodside Running
That’s right — it takes more than £20,000 every single week to provide the essentials:
- Veterinary treatment & surgeries
- Vaccinations & parasite prevention
- Specialist rehabilitation for trauma cases
- Food, shelter, and daily care
- Staffing and running the on-site facilities
This cost is ongoing, and the need never stops. Every week, new animals arrive — some abandoned, some injured, some terrified. And every week, Woodside rises to the challenge… but they can’t do it alone.
The Vet Suite
A Lifeline for Animals in Crisis
In 2022, Woodside opened an on-site veterinary suite, transforming the way they support animals. No more stressful trips off-site for treatment — animals now get the care they need right where they feel safest.
This purpose-built space means faster treatment, reduced stress, and better outcomes — but it also adds to the running costs. Ongoing surgeries, diagnostics, and daily care all require continuous funding.
